Gujarats online portal for Ayurveda drug manufacturing license system receives thumping response from Ayush industry

The online portal for drug manufacturing license system for ayurvedic medicines (Ayudmla) launched by Gujarat Food and Drugs Control Administration (FDA) around 10 months back has received a thumping response from Ayurveda companies. Almost all Ayurveda units in the state have registered with the online portal. There are around 820 Ayurveda companies in Gujarat. All of them have registered with Ayudmla. With this, the Gujarat FDA have digital record of the number of Ayurveda companies and their plants in the state, said FDA commissioner Dr HG Koshiya. However, the online portal is yet to capture product licenses of Ayurveda companies. The FDA officials are verifying product licences issued to Ayurveda companies as well as their legacy data. Once the verification gets done, the product licenses and legacy data of Ayurveda companies will get digitised, stated Dr Koshiya. Currently, fresh application, renewal of license, and new product permissions are being processed through Ayudmla.
